HAVE SPECIFIC GEAR QUESTIONS?
We want YOU to get the most you possibly can from our UNIQUE / Workshops.
Part of getting the most you can from our Workshops is making sure you have the right gear for this style of photography. Unfortunately, not all digital cameras and lenses are made equal.
If you have any questions, whatsoever, concerning cameras, lens, tripods, intervalometers, laptops, or other accessories, please reach out to Tony via email at tony@319photography.com and he will gladly help you choose the right gear for the workshop.
WHAT CLIMATE SHOULD I PREPARE FOR?
The average temperature, not factoring in wind chill, in Iceland in November sees daily high temperatures around 40°F and daily low temperatures around 35°F.
A NOTE ON CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR
We seriously encourage students to come prepared for the colder climate with multiple layers of WARM clothing & outwear as well as quality, insulated boots. Heated vests, pants, socks, jackets, and gloves are an excellent idea.
A NOTE ON WEATHER
As landscape and astro-landscape photographers, one thing we know for a fact is that we cannot control the weather. Trust me, we wish we could! If at any point during the workshop we are unable to photograph a landscape, the Milky Way, or the Aurora, we will transition to another style of photography or instruction. We will not simply scrap the day!
WHERE ARE WE STAYING?
During our trip, we will be staying in few different places along the way. We will stay in a hotel in Reykjavik, near the city center, on the first night. For the next three nights we will stay in a private lodge named the Lava Lodge. For the fifth night, we will lodge in Hella, Iceland at another lodge. On nights six and seven, we will stay at a lodge in Vík í Myrdal, Iceland. The eighth and final night will find us back in a hotel Reykjavik!
This workshop INCLUDES all eight nights of SINGLE OCCUPANCY lodging!
